Children’s Heart Center

When you hear the words “heart disease” it’s typically not a child that comes to mind. But congenital heart conditions are the leading cause of infant mortality. Despite the obvious need, pioneering research and innovative technology has lagged significantly behind other fields of pediatric medicine.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is changing that. The hospital is home to the Children’s Heart Center, one of the largest pediatric heart programs in the nation, where 500 heart surgeries are performed annually. The youngest patient ever to receive an artificial heart was treated by the hospital’s world-class surgeons. For hospital information visit pchheart.com.
